Music has often been instrumental in struggles for freedom and social change. Join us to discover how music written and sung by women has shaped messages that have empowered and inspired progress and advancement.
Speaker: Rev. Yvette Vanterpool
Rev. Yvette Vanterpool is Chief Communications Officer for MMBB. She brings over 15 years of experience as an Educator, Writer and Program Manager. In her role, Yvette is responsible for managing and executing a strategic messaging platform for internal and external clients that ensures brand consistency across products, campaigns and media (print, digital, social media). Prior to joining MMBB, she served as Adjunct Instructor at The College of New Rochelle where she taught core liberal arts courses in foundational academic skills, writing and philosophy. She also taught fundamentals of writing and academic life skills at Nyack College.
Yvette has also served as Development Associate for Face to Face/Faith to Faith, a multi-faith youth program at Auburn Seminary where she played a critical role in defining strategic themes and creating the branding language that resulted in increased growth and fundraising revenues. She’s also written widely for such organizations as The Hachette Group (formerly Time Warner Books), The Pen Center, USA and American Baptist Churches-Metro New York.
Yvette earned her Master of Divinity degree summa cum laude from Drew Theological Seminary, Madison, NJ, and is ordained in the American Baptist Churches. An accomplished classical singer, she has sung with the Deutsche Oper Berlin, The New World Symphony, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and toured with New York City Opera and Glimmerglass Opera. She also holds a Master of Music degree in voice/opera from Binghamton University and a Bachelor of Music from The Hartt School.
