    Building Bridges and Gateways to Girls Future

    Hi-e.S.T.E.A.M. Virtual Camp
    for girls in middle school and up

    Day 1: Technology & Science Experiments
    • Technology: Engage in a fun, hands-on activity creating bracelets that share positive and uplifting messages using binary code. 
    • Science Experiments: Have fun while reviewing chemistry concepts through hands-on science experiments, including slime, volcano, and a lava lamp.
    Day 2: Technology & SPA science
    • Technology: Engage in a fun, hands-on activity using logic and problem-solving skills to debug a code without using a software program. 
    • SPA Science: You are the scientist! Make your own bath salt, sugar scrub, and lip gloss.

     

    Day 3: Technology & Engineering
    • Technology: Engage in a fun, hands-on activity developing algorithms to re-create a drawing.
    • Engineering: Create a bot! Use engineering and circuits to build a bot that can draw. 
     

    Christian Education Curriculum 
    Day 1 
    Participants will learn the importance of healthy, supportive friendships
    Scripture: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
     
    Day 2
    Through the power of story, participants will understand how our differences can make us stronger together. Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:12-26
     
    Day 3
    Participants will discover that God has a plan for them and how they can receive the benefit of God's plan
    Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11

     

    Instructor
    Christiane Agkpo is the Executive Director of the Montclair Learning Center (MLC) sparking STEM interest in children. MLC offers STEM summer camp, after school classes and events. Agkpo's passion is to close the education and technology gap for more girls and minority students. Agkpo worked in the telecom and banking industry in the US, Europe and Africa. Agkpo is Mom of 4 and holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnique Montreal and an MBA from Columbia University.
