This 12-Day devotional is an attempt to give voice to 15 women lighthouse keepers of the 19th and 20th century. Poignant facts are told about their heroic efforts to keep the lights shining for the multitude of strangers at sea. Yet many women who sustain life go unnoticed for decades. The juxtaposition of scripture references of unnamed women of the Bible invites readers to discern their own faith journeys. This devotional is meant to be part of a beginning conversation about transformation, gender equity, dignity, and servant-leadership roles women have held for many centuries, whether publicly recognized or in the shadows. Rev. Sandra Dorsainvil
Rev. Sandra Dorsainvil serves as a Ministry Coach and Women’s Group Retreat Facilitator with the Center for Career Development & Ministry. She served as the Director of Short-Term Mission at International Ministries from 2017-23. She has also served as the Associate Executive Minister for Mission & Stewardship for The American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts, Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sharon, MA, and Associate Pastor at the First Baptist Church in Needham, MA. Rev. Dorsainvil volunteers as a Missions Coach with the Missionary Certification Program of the National African American Missions Council & Sowing Seeds of Joy Ministry. She believes in the quality preparation of individuals who desire to be the hands and feet of Christ.   
     Rev. Dorsainvil has earned several advanced graduate degrees from Boston University and Boston College, as well as successfully completed the American Baptist Churches-USA Nehemiah Leadership Network certificate program in 2014.
     Rev. Dorsainvil has published many publications. Her most recent publication is Beacons Of Hope, a 12-Day devotional that focuses on 15 women lighthouse keepers in the US juxtaposed with unnamed women of the Bible. The Spanish version is entitled, Luces de Esperanza
