VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 9/23/19) -- American Baptist Women’s Ministries partners with Capital Area Baptist Association, American Baptist Churches of New York State, and Safe Heaven Ministries for a Domestic Violence Prevention and Education 2-day training, November 15-16, 2019. The conference will be held at Latham Community Baptist Church, where George Stefani is the pastor; he also serves as the moderator for the Association. This 2-day training will enable clergy, church leaders, community groups, and domestic violence educators to come together in a safe and intentional manner to learn ways to support and aid those in their communities that are suffering from Domestic Violence. People will gain knowledge, insight, and skills useful in addressing and preventing domestic violence.
Gina Jacobs-Strain, executive director of American Baptist Women’s Ministries shared, “Domestic Violence is an epidemic that cripples so many women, children and men preventing them from living healthy and fulfilled lives. It is often in plain sight yet we miss it because we are unaware of the symptoms and triggers. It is our hope that this type of collaborative ministry can be the beginning of many similar efforts to educate and cultivate awareness, prevention and ultimately saving lives. Domestic Violence Education and Prevention is central to ABWM’s Christ-centered ministry with a commitment to encourage and empower women and girls to serve God and to support our local communities and churches.”
Stefani shared, “This is the very best of the American Baptist community. The local church, association, region, and national office are aligned to equip the people of our churches to bring healing, comfort, protection, and encouragement to those who are suffering. We are excited by this opportunity and hope that you can join us.”
