One Great Hour of Sharing Grant Opportunity

Supporting the Flourishing of Women and Girls

American Baptist Women’s Ministries (ABWM) is pleased to announce a new grant opportunity made possible through One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS).

One Great Hour of Sharing supports disaster relief, ministries to displaced persons, and development projects of American Baptist Churches USA and its partners. OGHS provides emergency relief and funding for development projects that address chronic needs in communities.

Through this partnership, ABWM is accepting grant proposals for programs and projects that support the flourishing of women and girls.

Our Focus

We believe women and girls flourish when they have the resources, opportunities, support, and community they need to live with dignity, develop their gifts, exercise leadership, and build hopeful futures.

We invite proposals for programs and projects that respond to chronic or emerging needs affecting women and girls while creating opportunities for long-term growth and well-being.

Projects may address areas such as:

  • Education and skill development
  • Economic empowerment and sustainability
  • Leadership development
  • Health and wellness
  • Safety and violence prevention
  • Support for displaced women and girls
  • Community development
  • Responses to poverty and other chronic needs
  • Other initiatives that promote the flourishing of women and girls

Who Should Apply?

Churches, ministries, organizations, and community partners with programs serving women and girls are invited to apply.

Successful proposals should clearly identify the need being addressed, describe the women and/or girls who will benefit, explain how the proposed project responds to that need, and demonstrate the potential for meaningful and sustainable impact.

When Women and Girls Flourish, Communities Flourish

Through One Great Hour of Sharing, ABWM has an opportunity to invest in programs that do more than respond to immediate needs. We can help create conditions in which women and girls are equipped, supported, and empowered to flourish.

Together, we are Building God’s Community by investing in women and girls and the communities they call home.
