Women and Girls Day 2025

Friday, July 4, 2025 | Omaha, NE | 9 AM – 2 PM

This year at Women and Girls Day, we gather under the inspiring theme of Building God’s Community. Together, we will explore what it means to rise to new challenges, rebuild after difficult seasons, and restore hope and unity in our communities of faith. This is a day for women and girls to unite, empower one another, and work toward a shared vision of God’s inclusive, transformative love in the world.

A Call to Rise, Rebuild, and Restore

Throughout the day, we’ll focus on three powerful movements:

• Rise: We are called to rise with strength and courage, stepping boldly into the purpose that God has placed within each of us. Whether leading in your church, family, or community, this is your time to stand firm in faith and embrace the journey ahead.
• Rebuild: Together, we will share stories and strategies for rebuilding after seasons of hardship—whether personally, spiritually, or within our communities. With God’s guidance, we will renew the foundations of our lives and ministries.
• Restore: As we come together in worship and reflection, we will experience the restoration of our hearts, minds, and spirits. In this sacred time of gathering, God will restore us to wholeness and renew our sense of purpose.

​Can You be Strong and Courageous When Life Hurts? Workshop with Dr. Sharon Siler

Dr. Sharon Siler is the Executive Director of The Healing Place Center for Counseling and Spiritual Formation in Mechanicsville, Virginia and has provided care for persons experiencing death and non-death losses for a number of years. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Virginia Commonwealth University, and the College of William and Mary and a Master of Science in Thanatology (the study of death, dying and bereavement) from Marian University. Sharon is an ordained minister, a trained spiritual director, and a certified thanatologist.

What to Expect:

This full day of empowerment, inspiration, and connection is designed to help women and girls grow in faith and build lasting bonds within the community. You’ll experience:

• Inspiring Speakers who will share how they have risen above challenges and helped rebuild and restore communities through their ministries and personal journeys.
• Interactive Workshops where you can learn practical steps to rebuild your spiritual life, strengthen relationships, and contribute to building a stronger community of faith.
• Worship and Praise led by our gifted leader, Minister Kabanya Vinson, creating space for deep reflection and spiritual restoration.
• Fellowship Opportunities to connect with women and girls from across the country, sharing stories, prayers, and encouragement as we support each other in our journeys of faith.

​Luncheon Speaker: Rev. Katherine “Kay” Farley 

Rev. Katherine “Kay” Farley is the Co-Pastor of Faith Community Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado and has served as President of the American Baptist Churches of the Rocky Mountains (ABCRM). She served several years on the ABCUSA Board of General Ministries. She was the Assistance Director of Admissions and Director of Student Services at the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. During her tenure at Iliff she organized a chapter of the National Alliance of Pan African Seminarians (NAPAS). The first project was to have Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday become a holiday celebrated by the school. The appeal was successful and the University of Denver joined later in planning outstanding programs together for the holiday. She served over fifteen years as the assistant to the pastor at New Hope Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado. She, her husband and a small group of faithful dedicated Christians organized Faith Community Baptist Church eighteen years ago. We are a church all about Family and Love, Worshipping God together!

Worship Leader: Minister Kabanya Vinson
Minister Kabanya Vinson, a gifted musician, singer, songwriter, producer, composer, and arranger from Albany, Georgia, began playing piano at age 3 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Georgia. She has worked with renowned artists like Aretha Franklin and Michael McDonald and was influenced by her aunt, Dr. Bernice Reagon, founder of “Sweet Honey in the Rock.” Her debut album, “TheMOSAIC,” features the single “Consume Me.” With over 40 years in music ministry, Kabanya has served in various capacities, directed international choral tours, and worked at Ray of Hope Christian Church and Shiloh Baptist Church.
